About WaterBoy

Sport can change what a young person believes is possible.

WaterBoy makes participation achievable, practical, dignified, and connected to real personal growth.

Purpose

To provide opportunities for rangatahi to experience growth through personal development.

Mission

To collaborate with local communities to improve hauora using sport as a vehicle.

Vision

To make participation in sport and physical activity achievable for every Kiwi.

How we work

Real barriers. Real support. Real follow-through.

We work alongside whanau, schools, clubs, sponsors, funders, and local organisations to remove practical barriers such as fees, gear, uniforms, transport and access.

  • Kia Haehaa: Be Humble
  • Kia Hiakai: Be Hungry
  • Kia Mohio: Be Smart

The work is practical on purpose: make the next step possible, then stay close enough to help it happen.

WaterBoy exists because sport can change what a young person believes is possible. Participation builds confidence, belonging, routine, friendships, and connection.

We work with local communities to make sport and physical activity achievable for more rangatahi by listening first, understanding the practical barrier, and connecting the right support around them.
